Top Gear reading journal

BBC. "BBC's Top Gear boosts magazine garage.." Australasian Business Intelligence 12 Mar. 2008: 59-63. Print.

1. comment on the opening. How does it try and hook you?

Genre- non-fiction

Source- Tesco, Forfar, Angus, Scotland

I have read about 100 pages in the magazine and still reading it.

Vocab- Velocious- fast Undeviating-smooth

This article was about on of my favorite cars of all time the Jaguar E-type. The opening of the article started of with what type of engine the car has. The article itself is not named so I needed to think about the introduction before I kept on reading. It describes the engine as a roaring 6-straight with a fossil fuel burning turbo. As a car lover when a article is talking about the engine it hooks me straight away. I get hooked because of the way Top Gear describes the engine. They always describe it in a very "British" way meaning that they use humorous jokes that most of the British community would have a littler chuckle at.
